I knew it was going to happen, but it doesn’t make me any less sad.This was the best show on television that more people should’ve watched. TV like this rarely — well, never — comes along. I’m just glad we got two perfect, incredible seasons.

With the second season finale (and possibly the series finale, if HBO doesn’t pick it up for a third season) happening tomorrow, I thought it was a good time to remind you why you, and everyone else, should be watching this brilliant show.
So, here are a few pieces that have been published this season about Enlightened that should convince you, if you aren’t already convinced, that this is the best show on television.

Each one of these ladies auditioned for the role of Sarah in Labyrinth (1986), as did Yasmine Bleeth, Mary Stuart Masterson, Kerri Green and Laura San Giacomo. Before Jennifer Connelly was chosen, Ally Sheedy, Maddie Corman, and Jane Krakowski were front-runners for the part.
HBO has granted Enlightened a second season. This makes me very, very happy.
